The Pennsylvania Level 3 & 4 West State Championships, hosted locally by the Erie Gymnastics Center and part of the Pennsylvania USA Gymnastics season, will take place this Saturday at the Hagerty Family Events Center.
Competition starts at 8 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m., with 330 athletes from 30 teams traveling from across the state, including programs as far as Philadelphia.
Athletes will compete on all four USA Gymnastics women’s apparatuses, using official USA Gymnastics judging criteria.
Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children, seniors or military members with a valid ID.
“As one of the culminating meets of the season, the Pennsylvania Level 3 & 4 West State Championships provides athletes with the opportunity to showcase their technical skills, consistency and competitive growth in a high-level championship setting,” said Jesse Pershun, gymnastics coach at Erie Gymnastics Center. “The event not only crowns state champions but also celebrates the dedication, discipline and hard work the gymnasts have demonstrated throughout the season.”
